Stanziato’s Pizza teamed up with Holbrook Farm for the Danbury pizzeria’s first farm-to-table event held on the Bethel farm this past Sunday, September 16. A picture perfect September summer evening paired with a smoking wood-fired pizza oven served as the perfect foil for an abundance of farm bounty and 80 pizza-loving folks.
To begin, Chef Matt Stanczak started with a creamy avocado-based gazpacho, followed by Holbrook greens and heirloom tomatoes dressed in a green goddess dressing, and a duo of vegetables (Matt’s take on summer meets fall). Four different pizzas came out in well-timed succession, as the reggae sounds of Fattie Roots played during the nearly three hour meal.
Setting the bar for a relaxed and fun take on the farm dinner scene, this Stanziato’s takeover of Holbrook Farm may just have been my favorite farm dinner yet.
